Osmond Nebraska

Summertime finds Poolside Park a beehive of activity.

The complex includes the municipal swimming pool, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe court (bring your stakes and shoes), tennis courts, large playground area and picnic facilities in a setting enhanced by large shade trees.

Uptown, Memorial Park holds a part of Osmond’s history – the town’s early-day fire bell is perched atop a tower and surrounded by landscaping of shrubs and flowering plants.

The ringneck pheasant is the prime hunting quarry, however, many other species are available to challenge the hunter’s marksmanship.

Four golf courses are situated within short driving distances from Osmond as are lakes and rivers for the fisherman.

Center pivot irrigation systems abound in this corn and soybean-producing area where there are many beef and pork feeding operations.

Tours of farms and points of interest are available.

The city has become a popular spot for visitors to enjoy the Christmas season.

Many, many residents decorate their homes as thousands of strings of lights give the city a holiday glow.

Yuletide displays are everywhere in the community which has become known as the Christmas City.

A part of history in uptown Osmond is one of the oldest bars in eastern Nebraska. Built in 1904, the bar was shipped from the Sioux City Brewing Company in three huge pieces.
