Grant is the county seat of Perkins County and a vital anchor in Nebraska’s rural corridor. Founded in 1886 with the arrival of the railroad, it remains a civic and historical hub.
Grant was built to last.

Platted in 1886 when the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad arrived, Grant quickly became the civic heart of Perkins County. Named after Ulysses S. Grant, it was more than a stop—it was a statement.

Its courthouse square, grain elevators, and historic commercial district still stand as testaments to a town that never stopped serving. Through droughts, depressions, and rural shifts, Grant held firm.

Today, it’s not just a county seat—it’s a corridor cornerstone. A place where history is housed in brick and civic pride still pulses through the streets.
