Short Description
We are Wildflour Grocer, an indoor farmers market and community space based in O’Neill, NE, in the heart of north central Nebraska focusing on local and sustainably grown products.
We are connecting the community to the land, their food, and each other.
In the fall of 2017, a group of 7 food citizens came together and started to work on their shared vision of a local food hub. After hard work and old-fashioned elbow grease, we softly opened our indoor farmers market at the end of January 2018 and have been getting our name out there as well as increasing the local products available within the store since then.
In June 2018, we organized a kickstarter to fund our commercial kitchen and our community successfully funded it! We now have a kitchen so we can preserve the foods coming from the fields and can extend the access into the winter. With the kitchen we are also encouraging the growth of small businesses. Bakers, herbalists, farmers, cooks, and pastry chefs are using our kitchen to start making great things for the community. It will also serve as an education space for adults and children alike. Helping families to be resourceful when it comes to their local food. And all are encouraged to use products already found within our store. The ingredients of the products coming from this kitchen will be coming from Nebraska whenever possible.
